OUR STORY

Grace & Beans didn’t begin with a lifelong dream of starting a clothing company.

It started because I’ve always been drawn to things that are a little different.

I love clothes that feel comfortable and effortless, but I’ve never loved the idea of wearing the exact same thing as everyone else. I wanted the sweatshirt you throw on without thinking about it, but with enough personality that it doesn’t feel like just another sweatshirt.

And eventually I started wondering...

Why not make it myself?

I began experimenting with ordinary sweatshirts and hoodies, cutting them differently, distressing them by hand, adding unexpected details and playing with different textures, finishes and embellishments.

The more I created, the more I realized I didn’t want perfection.

I wanted character.

I loved that distressing one sweatshirt by hand could never produce exactly the same result twice. I loved taking something basic and changing one little detail that suddenly made the entire piece feel different.

That idea became the foundation of Grace & Beans.

NOT MASS PRODUCED. NOT PERFECT. NOT ORDINARY.

Every Grace & Beans piece begins with something familiar and transforms from there.

Some are hand distressed. Some are cut, reconstructed or embellished. Some have unexpected details you may not even notice until you look closer.

And because so much of what I create is done by hand, there will naturally be slight differences from piece to piece.

That’s exactly how I want it.

I don't want Grace & Beans to be a closet full of identical clothing rolling off an assembly line.

I want each piece to feel considered, beautifully imperfect and just a little unexpected.

MADE FOR REAL LIFE.

I’m a wife. I’m a mom. I’m a business owner. My life isn't a perfectly curated highlight reel, and I don't dress like it is.

I want clothes I can actually live in.

I want comfort without looking sloppy. Feminine without being overly delicate. Elevated without feeling pretentious. And different without screaming for attention.

Grace & Beans lives somewhere in the middle of all of those things.

It's a sweatshirt you'll wear on an ordinary Tuesday, but it's also the sweatshirt someone stops you to ask about.

And that's probably my favorite kind of fashion.

WHY GRACE & BEANS?

When it came time to name the brand, I kept coming back to the place I call home.

To me, no two words capture the spirit of the South, and Tennessee in particular, quite like Grace & Beans.

Grace is the beauty of Southern life. It's faith, kindness and hospitality. It's making room at the table, treating people well and finding beauty in things that don't need to be perfect to be beautiful.

And then there are Beans.

Beans are the other side of the South. They're humble and familiar. They're a pot simmering on the stove, a well-loved recipe, a crowded kitchen and the kind of meal that was never meant to impress anyone, yet somehow feels like home.

One word is a little refined.
The other is wonderfully ordinary.

And together, they just make sense.

Because that's Tennessee to me.

It's pearls with worn-in denim. Sunday morning and bare feet. Something beautiful beside something humble. A little polished, a little imperfect, and never too precious to actually live in.

That's also exactly what I wanted this brand to be.

Grace & Beans takes familiar, comfortable pieces and gives them something unexpected. We mix softness with edge, refinement with distressing, and beautiful details with perfectly imperfect finishes.

It's clothing that feels special without feeling untouchable.

A little grace. A little grit. And a whole lot of home.

That's Grace & Beans.
